About Ozark Stewardship

Science in service of good stewardship.

Helping landowners understand their natural resources and make responsible, informed decisions for the future.

Our mission

Care for the whole system.

Help people become better stewards of their land through practical, science-based guidance—so they can leave it better than they found it and pass it on to future generations.

Built around the landowner

Every property and every landowner is different. We begin by listening, then pair field observations with established science to develop recommendations that fit the place and its purpose.

Education creates lasting value

A useful plan explains not only what to do, but why. Our work is designed to leave clients more confident in the decisions they make long after a site visit.

Meet the founder

Johnny Pulliam

Founder, Biologist & Natural Resource Consultant

Veteran-Owned Business

Johnny Pulliam is the founder, biologist, and natural resource consultant behind Ozark Stewardship LLC. He earned his degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from Southeast Missouri State University and works professionally in fisheries biology and natural-resource management.

Johnny’s field experience began during college, where he completed two semesters of paid research work conducting swamp rabbit surveys and served as a field team leader. His professional background includes wildlife, terrestrial and aquatic habitat, water quality, fisheries, and pond management. This broad experience allows him to evaluate each property as an interconnected system rather than focusing on a single species or concern.

Born and raised in the foothills of the Ozarks, Johnny developed an early appreciation for the region’s streams, forests, hills, and wildlife. He is an avid deer and turkey hunter, angler, and lifelong student of the natural world—with a particular appreciation for salamanders. He believes every native plant and animal contributes to the health and resilience of the larger ecosystem.

Johnny established Ozark Stewardship to help landowners better understand and care for their natural resources. His goal is to provide practical, science-based recommendations that improve land and water today while conserving the region’s natural heritage for future generations.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, Johnny brings a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and service to his work with landowners. Guided by Christian values and devotion to family, he views stewardship as both a personal responsibility and a commitment to those who will inherit the resources entrusted to our care.

Thoughtful management for healthy, productive, and resilient natural resources that can be passed on to future generations.

“Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.”Proverbs 27:23 · KJV
